The Finnish Society of Melbourne and Suomi-koulu Melbourne are celebrating Vappu on 1st of May starting with a joint lunch and then activities and programs throughout the day.

$10 plate of food, including Munkki and Sima, $5 kids, $15 non-members.

Munkki and Sima also sold separately all day and other beverages at the bar.

Kids activities with Suomi-koulu following lunch, then “big-kid’s” programs for the rest of the afternoon and evening with Live music from 7pm.

Sauna open with separate Men’s and Women’s group times for $5 per person, also available for private bookings throughout the day $10 per person ($20 non-members) or $25 for Family ($35 non-members).

Welcome BBQ & AGM

New provisionary dates for the Welcome BBQ and AGM have been set.

Sunday 28th March starting at 11:30 pm will be the Welcome BBQ with sausages, rissoles, coffee, and more for $10 per person. Vegetarian and gluten free options available.

The Bazaar this year is going to be very different from previous years…

This year the Finnish Christmas Bazaar will be virtual! Stalls will be featured on our website where you can browse and visit the stalls you grew to love online. Baked Goods and Imported Finnish Confectionary will be available from our Finnish Shop.

Finlandia: The Piano Music Of Jean Sibelius

On independence day this year there will be a celebration of Finnish culture through the music of the great composer, Jean Sibelius.

Performed by Jon Morrison, a Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist and composer, the free virtual concert will be held on the 6th of December. More information will be available closer to the date on his website: www.jonmorrison.net and arts.whittlesea.vic.gov.au
