Billiard Competition 2022

Become the new billiard champion! Try and take the titles from Talvikki Jumpponen and Veikko Fadjukoff who won the last comp in 2019.

Sunday, 17th July at the Finnish Hall, 119 Pier St, Altona. Registration $5 at 9am, Competition starts at 10am in two categories: women and men.

Food available from the kitchen. The Suomi shop, and bar will be open throughout the event.

The comp is always a great time. Come as a supporter or a participant, all welcome.

Juhannus / Midsummer 2022

While has winter just begun in Aus, it is summer in Finland! Join us to celebrate the solstice with a hearty midsummer lunch by the roaring “bonfire” on Sunday 26th June.

Lunch starts at 1pm, featuring smoked salmon. Tickets are $25 FSM members and $30 non-members, kids under 12 are free.

Please book your spot before the 21st June to ensure enough food for everyone. 

FSM’s welcome BBQ and AGM

The start of year barbecue is on Sunday the 20th of February. This marks the beginning of the Society’s calendar of events, which you can now find on our website at

Doors open at 11:30 pm, lunch served at 12pm. Food includes sausages, rissoles, coffee, and more for $10 per person.

Finnish Christmas Bazaar 2021

The Annual Finnish Christmas Bazaar is here! The Finnish Hall on 11th of December from 9am to 2pm is THE place to get a little piece of Finland to take home and make your Christmas complete.

We have your favourite Christmas confectioneries from the Suomi Shop and traditional Finnish baked goods, such as Karelia Pies, Carrot Casserole, Cinnamon Buns, Christmas Stars and more, all handmade and baked at the Hall.

The cafe and bar will be open, giving you time to relax and enjoy great Finnish coffee. It’s also a good time to meet up with friends before spending Christmas with the family.

Get a little piece of Finland and make your Christmas complete!

Please note, due to COVID restrictions, attendees at the Bazaar are required to be fully vaccinated, however, you can arrange to pick up your items on Sunday 12th December, 10am-1pm.

Similarly, there will not be any independent stalls due to density concerns.
